Guided Cultural Workshop and Tour
Invitation to: All Guests - Ticketed Workshop
This full-day immersive workshop brings together creativity, storytelling, and land-based learning in an intimate museum setting. Guided by Cultural Land Ambassadors / Guides, guests will move through a thoughtfully paced day that includes: Talking Trees, Roots & Remedies - Tea Blending, Salt & Cedar - Bath Bomb Making, Optional Catered Lunch, and Impressions of the Land - Printmaking.
Designed for depth rather than rush, the day invites curiosity, reflection, and creative expression at every stage. All workshop materials are provided, and no prior experience is required. Guests leave with handmade creations, new perspectives, and a deeper connection to culture, place, and story.
Rooted in the theme of Season of Self Care, the day invites guests to slow down, reconnect, and engage meaningfully with culture, creativity, and place. Guided by Cultural Land Ambassadors / Guides, participants will move through a carefully paced program that balances movement, hands-on workshops, and rest.
The Day's Experience
Talking Trees Guided Walking Tour
The day begins with a guided outdoor walking tour that explores relationships between land, trees, and story.
This experience grounds the day in place, offering cultural context, shared learning, and time to arrive fully before moving indoors.
Roots & Remedies: Indigenous Tea Blending
Guests are invited into a sensory, land-based workshop exploring plant knowledge through scent, texture, and flavour.
Each participant will craft a personal tea blend to take home, with guidance that emphasizes care, intention, and wellbeing.
Optional Catered Lunch
Midday, guests may choose to enjoy a shared catered lunch featuring thoughtfully prepared local food (such as salmon and bannock or curated seasonal catering).
This optional add-on allows guests to gather, rest, and connect, while dietary needs and preferences are collected in advance. Guests who prefer are welcome to bring their own lunch.
Salt & Cedar: Bath Bomb Making
In the afternoon, participants will create handcrafted bath bombs using natural ingredients such as cedar and seaweed.
This workshop focuses on self-care, creativity, and practical making, with all materials provided.
Impressions of the Land: Printmaking
To close the day, guests will take part in a relaxed printmaking session using pre-carved lino stamps and ink pads to create a small series of hand-pressed cards inspired by the season.
With a Valentine’s and winter-into-spring theme, these cards are designed to be gifted to loved ones or kept as personal reflections; carrying the care, creativity, and intention of the day forward beyond the workshop.
Full-Day Flow & Pacing
The full-day format allows each experience to unfold without rush, with intentional breaks built in for rest, conversation, and reflection.
No prior experience is required for any workshop, and all activities are designed to be welcoming and accessible.
