Offered as part of Syiyaya Days, this guided experience is connected to the wider community gathering supported by the syíyaya Reconciliation Movement, the District of Sechelt, and the shíshálh Nation.
Through story, observation, and quiet reflection, participants are invited to consider how shorelines hold knowledge; and how marine ecosystems, community wellbeing, and cultural continuity are deeply connected.
This is an opportunity to move with the rhythms of the coast, learn from the living shoreline, and leave with a deeper sense of connection, respect, and place.

Where We Meet
We gather at Porpoise Bay Provincial Park, where forest meets shoreline along the edge of Sechelt Inlet.
Our meeting point is near the interpretive sign and playground, just steps from the main parking area. From there, we begin a gentle walk along the beach and coastal edges.
When conditions allow, we explore the intertidal zone with care, observing the relationships that exist between land, water, and all living beings.
