Feathered Beginnings

Join Talaysay Tours for a gentle birding walk at Burnaby Lake, where nesting season, ecological learning, and cultural perspectives come together in celebration of new life on the land and water.

Feathered Beginnings is a guided birding walk that celebrates nesting season, baby birds, and the many flying relatives who make their homes around Burnaby Lake.

Led by Talaysay Tours’ Cultural Land Ambassadors and ornithologists, this experience invites guests to explore the shoreline, wetlands, and forest edges with curiosity, care, and respect.

Together, we will slow down, observe seasonal bird behaviour, and learn through both ecological and culturally grounded perspectives.

What to Expect

  • A gentle outdoor birding walk around the Burnaby Lake area

  • Seasonal learning about nesting, fledglings, migration, and wetland bird life

  • Ecological interpretation from Talaysay Tours’ ornithologist guides

  • Culturally grounded perspectives on relationship, respect, and care for our flying relatives

  • Time to listen, notice, reflect, and connect with the land and water

Binoculars are welcome if you have them, though they are not required.
