Join us for a complimentary community walking tour in Sechelt, offered in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Community Forest. Through stories rooted in shíshálh oral history, this experience reflects on the shíshálh oral history, community memory; continuity, resilience, and relationship to place.

Spoken Treasures is a complimentary community walking tour that shares stories of place, memory, and shíshálh resilience.

Offered in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Community Forest, this guided experience invites guests to walk through Sechelt while reflecting on the shíshálh oral history and the continuity, resilience, and relationship to place of the shíshálh people.

Through spoken history, observation, and quiet reflection, participants are invited to engage with stories of colonial impact, cultural continuity, healing, and resurgence.

This is an opportunity to gather in community, walk with care, and deepen your understanding of the land, the people, and the histories carried here.

Spoken Treasures is a story-led walking experience grounded in history, reflection, and relationship to place.

Where We Meet

We gather in Sechelt, beginning at the Mother & Child statue near Tsain-Ko Gift Shop.

From there, we begin a gentle walking route through the community, grounding the experience in story, place, and historical reflection.

Final meeting details and arrival information will be shared with registered participants in advance of the event.
