About Talking Trees Tour at Stanley Park with Talaysay Interpretive Walk
Stanley Park, Vancouver, a cultural mecca and ecological wonder, is the perfect place to enjoy a First Nations interpretive tour. Full of lore, ancient knowledge and rich history, each tree tells its own story.
While on our Talking Trees Tour, your Talaysay guide will share the many stories of this region, as well as the intimate cultural and scientific knowledge of the Northwest coast trees and plants. Still today we continue to gather and harvest these same plants for food, medicine, art and technology. Every tree and plant is deemed sacred, having a purpose which supported our local indigenous societies for generations. In balance with nature, our preservation and harvest of the plants is governed through intricate and complex natural and social laws. Each plant, each tree, including the sacred red cedar tree – our tree of life, has its own special story.
We run year around except for the month of November. Advance booking is highly recommended for this popular tour.
This walk is low to moderate in effort. The walk is under 2 km and there are several stops to provide interpretation and share stories.
We meet at the Stanley Park Loop Bay 2 or at an agreed upon location.
When booked in advance, we provide traditional aboriginal tea.
