Welcome to Talaysay Tours - Sunshine Coast Kayaking and Cultural Adventures

Special Announcement - July 2010 Talaysay Tours is teaming up with Strongwater Cabins and Campground and Sunshine Coast Tours - July 11th Princess Louisa Inlet Tour!  Click here for details

Talaysay Tours provides guided kayak tours, basic kayak lessons, canoe and kayak rentals in Sechelt Inlet and Egmont at Waugh Lake or Egmont oceanside. We emphasize both safety and FUN, whether you are touring with us or simply renting a kayak or canoe.

Safety and monitoring is especially important in Egmont due to ocean currents, so you should always rent from companies that have staff in the area who are monitoring the rentals. Our goal is that your Sunshine Coast kayaking experience be both safe and enjoyable.

We have a great team of guides and this season promises to be full of fun and cultural adventures for our tours, with on-water games designed to increase your paddle skills and help you experience everything that kayaking and canoeing have to offer. You do not need experience to enjoy kayaking on the Sunshine Coast - our boats have been selected for their stability for the best possible experience.

Talaysay Tours also offers aboriginal/First Nations history nature walks, museum tours, community-totem pole walks, longhouse tours, events, carving demonstrations, and drumming and singing demonstrations.

Custom tours can be created for corporate retreats and local corporate outings for a unique First Nations cultural experience that you will not find anywhere else in BC.

CORPORATE/GROUP RETREATS

With a team of highly trained First Nations guides, artists, cultural workers, drummers and singers, Talaysay Tours can provide you and your group a highly unique, fun, and safe guided tour.  Here on the Sunshine Coast, in the company of Talaysay Tours you will be provided with the rich history, ancient lore, storytelling, drumming and singing  through native cultural interpretation. We think there is nothing else like what we do in British Columbia. Kayaking and canoeing on the Sunshine Coast with Talaysay is a great way to build teams, or show appreciation. Ask us about group rates.

We strive to inform, guide and share our history, our way of life and extend our friendship to our fellow community members and to the visitors of the Sunshine Coast.  Our people have resided in this region for millenia.  We know and respect these lands and waters that have sustained our peoples for countless generations and we would like to share this richness with you.

The majority of our kayak tours take place at Porpoise Bay Provincial Park.  We operate from the southeastern end of the park (left side), closest to Sechelt Band Lands and near the gazebo closest to the beach.  The parking at the park is $3/day and is monitored regularily.

This year we are pleased to announce the opening of our Waugh Lake location. Waugh Lake is in Egmont and is one of the most beautiful - and undiscovered - lakes on the Sunshine Coast. We can also transport you and your boats to Egmont for saltchuck launches.

Ask about our Custom Tours, our gourmet meals and other site locations.  Talaysay Tour guides are available for private tours requiring a minimum of 3 persons to a maximum of 12 per tour.
